Blue Sky’s operating staff is continuously improving and reducing its operational footprint by optimizing and enhancing its production from its assets while reducing operating costs. Environment and Asset Retirement
BSR has a dedicated team to aggressively retire assets at end of life. This includes downhole abandonment, facility decommissioning, pipeline abandonment, environmental site assessment, remediation, reclamation, vegetation management, and Reclamation Certification. In 2021 and 2022 (planned), BSRL exceeded the AER Voluntary Closure Spend target. In B.C. we actively work to exceed the milestones specified in the Dormancy and Shutdown Regulation. This resulted in the decommissioning of more than 25 facilities during the 2021 winter program.
The company actively works to minimize our carbon footprint, achieving emissions well below the thresholds specified in AER Directives 039 (dehydrators) and 060 (Flaring, Venting, and Fugitives).
